Passion[ate] For Life  - One man’s-eye view of finding and growing a relationship with the opposite sex

It’s about solving one of man’s three greatest mysteries which I have identified as:

1. Getting your 9 lbs of gold suspended in the ocean’s salt water.  Yes, for every man, women and child on earth there is 9lbs of gold suspended in the ocean.
2. Making a sucker…. for airline baggage …. 13,000 bags a month go missing, and bags take for ever to get loaded and unloaded…...  Imagine if you put a team of creative people and engineers together ---- millions of hours and millions of dollars saved by millions of travellers in millions of flights throughout the world.  Long live the creatives!
3. Finding and keeping the H in your relationship… it is the world’s GREATEST mystery.

A counsellor once told me about a relationship being like the letter H.

Let’s assume two ‘emotionally healthy’ ( is there such a thing? ) adults as a starting point.

The legs of the H    |  | are two emotionally and physically healthy, and self-sufficient people.

The bar across the middle | - |   - represents the common interests and common bond which provides a fun, exciting and happy life.

If you start with an H, with all the fun, passion and sensuality, how do you keep it alive and growing through ages and stages? 

How do you keep it all in balance?   Work, family, money, making love, physical, health, education, spiritual and of course the relationship.  When one part is going great another seems to slide.

It is a matter of finding the glue that binds:  children, common interests, church, social activities, family are some of the obvious starting points, but without the core in one or more of these areas you have nothing to put band-aids on as we go through life’s wonderful journey.
Are you currently in a relationship where you are lacking the motivation to do things as a couple, or just for the other person?   It happened to me and that was when I concluded my relationship was in trouble. 

It’s a bit late that that point, so now is a good time to reassess your relationship and start putting in place stronger building-blocks for the future.

From a career in dealing with facts, figures, data and business logic I decided to explore the biggie:

Relationships with the opposite sex!

The question posed to me:  “Why do you think you are qualified to speak about relationships?”

Q.  How many of us can be as good as Tiger Woods at golf?

A.  None.  But that doesn’t mean to say that the rest of us can’t improve our golf game, or in this case by using a coach – our relationships.

My experiences may help others avoid the mistakes I have made.

Well to me that’s one of life’s three greatest mysteries; although I did recently meet a couple married 48 years, and they still had that magic in their eyes.  You see they were still best friends and lovers.

Even though I am responsible for my own fulfillment, give me a wonderful relationship with a woman to add that sweet dimension to a fun and exciting journey !!

….. so there truly is hope and the dream.
